The Rochester Presidential Tournament Champions
Well done to our Major Atom River Rats for being crowned Champions during the Presidential Power Play tournament in Rochester, New York, USA. The kids were firing on all cylinders in this tournament, winning 4 games and losing just one (a 1-0 loss). Scoring was balanced across the line-up and the players showed great progress in supporting and trusting each other. Defensively, as a team and a defensive unit, this tournament demonstrated that these kids are aggressive and gritty, and will outwork their opponents. In the crease, our goaltenders excelled.

Winning was great, but most importantly, this tournament allowed the kids to prove to themselves the individual progress they have made this year and how they have come together as a team..

Minor Bantams Sweep to Victory in Richmond Hill
The boys were ready to play and it showed. A perfect record of 5 - 0 in Richmond Hill brought home the championship trophy. Balanced scoring, strong defence and timely saves were the keys. Out scoring opponents 26 - 5 along the way. Congratulations to all the players and coaching staff. Let's not forget the parents and siblings who cheered this team all the way. Like all teams from the Ottawa area the Toronto teams stood no chance...hahaha.

MAJOR MIDGET RATS CAPTURE TORONTO PENGUIN CLASSIC
The most senior of our River Rat teams headed down to Toronto and came home with the championship banner after going a perfect 5 and 0 for the weekend. The team skated extremely well in the preliminary round with low scoring wins over Stittsville, Port Credit and the host Toronto Penguin squad. In the semi-final the scoring came around with a convincing 4 – 0 victory over Credit Valley. This set up a rematch with Stittsville in the final. As championship games go this one did not disappoint with torrid action and chances at both ends until the result was finally settled by an overtime goal. Great effort by the whole team!

Major Peewee’s Capture The 2010 Cornwall Fall Classic
Going 5-0 winning all games in the tournament. The final was a very close game with Nepean Raiders where we locked in the win with an empty net goal to win 4-2. The team had to play 3 back to back games on Sunday which was physically a challenge as each game had three 15 minute stop time periods and very little time between periods. Congrats to the players on a great weekend.
